The 2017 cohort made huge progress during the programme both in terms of personal growth (overcoming fears and challenges!) and learning a huge amount about online business and best practice in developing a business idea. All participants are continuing to work on their businesses post programme and will stay connected with each other to motivate and support each other.
Two businesses are generating over $250 per week in sales so we achieved our lofty goal of having two businesses earning regular income (although there is plenty of hard work ahead!) and others will get to that milestone with continued focus and support. Here’s a little bit about each person’s business and link to websites and Facebook pages where possible.
Rina is passionate about entrepreneurship and the opportunity it presents for Māori. She has developed two businesses during the programme that are generating regular income and has played an active role as coach and mentor. Patrick is building an amazing business called KaiRua and has amassed a passionate following of over 35,000 ‘relations’. KaiRua is the duality of food for body and spirit. Patrick’s social enterprise is earning regular income and achieving his mission. Join the KaiRua community here.
Te Aorangi business is Wairua Ora (www.wairuaora.com), which provides inspiration and guidance to enable its readers to awaken their best selves and discover a deeper connection to others and our world. Te Aorangi has built an engaged community of over 2,000 followers on his Facebook page and is planning his first retreat in Gisborne in 2018.
Jodie is a talented poet and wants to share her gift and experiences with others as well create a sustainable business. Jodie is currently building Poetic Power is an online training programme teaching slam poetry. Jodie is currently developing the programme content for her new business and plans to go live early next year.
Raniera has a passion to help rangatahi realise their potential and already works actively in space leading and supporting a number of kaupapa. His online business, Career Hacks (http://careerhacks.siterubix.com/) is currently being developed.
Taitimu business, How To Be You (www.how-to-be-you.com) provides content to engage readers and support them on their journey to enlightenment. Taitimu is actively working on developing website content and is then planning to promote products on her website and earn income in 2018.
Verna’s business, Awhi Angels (Facebook page) is focused on sharing her experiences in elder care as she has looked after her parents in their home for many years. Her business will then promote products and services to help people look after their parents in their home which has huge potential given our aging population.
William’s business, Fly My Drone (https://flymydrone.co.nz/) was in operation at the start of the programme and he wanted to develop an affiliate business to generate additional income. During the programme William decided to study for his Real Estate licence is now a registered Real Estate agent in South Auckland as well as continuing with Fly My Drone.
